Hi Sigrid,
I glad this information is of some help to you. Look for 150 to 300 mg of DIM from a reputable manufacturer. Your doctor can assist you by measuring your estrogen levels. Also I would recommend bio-identical progesterone as a cream or as a prescription oral capsule. Progesterone is protective of the breast tissue and has been shown to arrest the growth of breast cancer in the G-1 stage of replication.

Read my breast health E-Book on this website, it's free, and understand the importance of keeping sugar and insulin to a minimum as these things feed cancer cells in general. Get rid of as much plastic exposure in your life as possible as it contains BPA, a harmful chemical, that increases cancer potential.

You're obviously a smart woman who knows how to care for herself and this will serve you well as you move forward in reclaiming your own health agenda.

Be well,
Dr. Gary Huber

I had just heard of DIM and thought, I'll see if I find answers to this product. And here you are. Great info! I had stage I hormone receptor cancer over a year ago. An Oncotype test came back as a 14 out of 100. After I had read everything about Arimidex, I talked to my radiation oncologist about the percentage points by which I would improve the recurrence scale. It was about 3 %, so, since I read and read about the side effects of Arimidex, I made the decision not to take this medication.
Instead, I increased my exercise and intake of all the good vegis and fruit and am hoping for the best. I am a 70-year old, very active woman and hate medication. Unfortunately, I used Premarin for over 25 years, since my gynecologist always promoted the good effect of Premarin. I was always a bit concerned and brought it up every year to him. It is comical that I would ultimately come done with breast cancer.
Of course, the so-called withdrawel effect of discontinuing Premarin is awful.

I think I will order DIM, I like the explanation. Thank you!

Hi Brenda,
I don't presently know of any other factors that "block" the 2 hydroxy pathway. The question you want to consider is what will advance the 4-hydroxy pathway? That answer is "toxins" in general and our need to remove as much "junk" from our diet and our lives as possible. This is where an ounce of prevention my result in many pounds of cure.

I think you might enjoy a precious article I wrote entitled, "Fighting Disease, By The Narrowest of Margins". I addresses this mentality.

Thanks Brenda,
Dr. Gary Huber
