Don’t Be a Victim to Corruption & Greed

For 10 days or so a course of antibiotics can be lifesavers. But when we take antibiotics for months on end or repeated course of them through the course of a year then they begin to leave their imprint on our immune system and open our bodies to new problems.
Antibiotics indiscriminately kill any bacteria they encounter, even good bacteria in our bowel. This can lead to a weakening of our immune system as our bowels hold the key to 70% of our immune function.
People with irritable bowel syndrome are often the victim of over-exposure to antibiotics.
Again I repeat, I love drug therapy and I love antibiotics but we need to be smart in their application and not sprinkle them on every sniffle that comes along.
Once antibiotics have been appropriately used then we need to reinstall good bacteria called probiotics to the bowel to return them to solid health.
Solutions
This is the recurring chaos I see in people’s health but there is a cavalry that can save us. Lifestyle habits, diet, exercise, and all that other terribly boring stuff that creates good health is at your disposal. This boring agenda has the power to reduce your need for drugs and surgery.
Again (for those in the back row), I love drug therapy but if I can go my whole life without ANY of it then that means I have placed my body in a environment of health, true health, and I will likely skate past all of that mayhem right up to the day that I die.
There are 80 year old people in nursing homes and there are 80 year old people on golf courses. Do you think they both made the same lifestyle choices? I don’t.
I hear people say “well, you gotta die of something.”
Well yes you do but before you die you have the choice of deciding how enjoyable those last 20 years of your life will be.
Unhealthy choices do not typically lead to a sudden stop at the end of the line. They typically lead to years of decay and painful erosion as you lie helpless in ICU beds and nursing home beds until the final end comes.
The quality of your life from this day forward to the end of your life is decided TODAY by the choices you make.
You and you alone can choose to follow a less common path, one that requires some planning and some inconvenience to arrive at rarified air where only the truly conscious exist.
You’ll meet some really cool people there and I look forward to making your acquaintance.

Great article, Dr. Huber. I agree with you 100%!
It is so refreshing to read your words. Yes, please everyone do take responsibilty for your own health. Take care of your body and allow the doctors to help you when you only have an emergency. I know it’s the same old message but we do need to get back to basic eating fresh fruit and veggies, small amounts of meat, exercise (there must be something you like doing..), drink water not soda pop, meditate/rest, look after your oral health, take good-quality supplements, socialise and HAVE FUN!!!
