10 Ways to Naturally Boost Your Mood

10 Ways to Naturally Boost Your Mood

You know those days when you just seem to be in a funk and can’t really figure out why? You realize it isn’t serving you and you need to get out of it, but it just keeps hanging on.

Feeling good should always be our highest priority because what you feel is what you vibrate and what you vibrate is what you attract. When you feel down in the dumps, The Universe has no choice but to match that vibration with something just like it. Bummer!

So, it behooves you to nip that downer mood in the bud and step back into your sunny little self as soon as possible. But how, you say? I just don’t feel happy….

Here are 10 ways to naturally boost your mood:

1.  Exercise - It can seem like the LAST thing you want to do when you don’t have a lot of energy, but exercise will actually cause your body to release endorphins that will automatically make you feel better.

You don’t have to commit to a marathon workout. Just tell yourself you’ll do it for 10 minutes and see where it goes from there. I have never left a workout feeling worse than I did when I went in and you won’t either – I promise!

2.  Have Sex – Again, not something that is usually high on the list when you are feeling down in the dumps, but sex is another really great way to get those endorphin levels up.

Grab your partner for a little quickie or set up a romantic evening for two (or one!) Either way, indulging in a little pleasure party is a wonderful option for moving your mood in a positive direction.

3.  Connect with Nature – Mother Nature has her own beautiful, peaceful rhythms and it is easy to get out of step with that when we allow our attention to be pulled in other directions.

Go to a park, take a walk in the woods, or just sit quietly on your patio and ground yourself in the gentle support of nature. It is impossible to feel bad when you do that.

4.  Meditate – The real reason we ever have a negative mood is because we feel disconnected with Source. By taking time to meditate we allow ourselves to regain the connection that is vital to our own happiness.

You don’t have to be an experienced meditator to do this. Just close your eyes and sit quietly for a few minutes while you focus on breathing in and out. Even 3-5 minutes of stillness is often enough to leave us feeling relaxed and rejuvenated.

5.  Take a Nap – Naps are for kids, right? Well the reason our parents made us take them when we were little is because they are GOOD FOR US! It’s easy to get cranky when you are tired, so you have to prioritize getting enough rest. You can catch a little catnap at your desk, in your car, or if you’re lucky in your very own bed. A 15 minute power nap can make a HUGE difference in your mental attitude.

6.  Listen to Music – Once my kids were born I completely gave up listening to my own music. It seemed I was always so focused on them that I didn’t listen to music at home anymore, and in the car they were always watching one of their movies or demanding to hear “kid” songs.

One day I realized I was craving my own playlist, so I took a drive with the windows down and blared my old hair band albums. It was awesome! Since then, I’ve remained committed to making music a part of my life and using it as a tool to feed my soul

If you are looking for a mood booster, put on your favorite tunes and sing or dance along. Here’s my favorite “Manifesting Mix” if you don’t have time to search for your iPod.
