The Detox Manifesto, Your Invitation

The Detox Manifesto, Your Invitation

The Environmental Working Group gathered data showing that in the umbilical cord blood of newborns there were 287 synthetic chemicals. Happy Birthday! Now drink this synthetic formula from this plastic bottle while I wipe your bottom with this specially formulated moist wipe that has a dozen chemical compounds in it.

Dr. Greene of Stanford University comments that of these 287 chemicals, 217 are registered as neurotoxins and are harmful to the brain. Some of these chemicals include pesticides, mercury and fire retardants just to name a few. And before this bright bundle of joy can even leave the hospital we will inject more toxic heavy metals in the form of vaccines into this chemical soup. And you want to know why Johnny can’t focus on his school work? His poor brain never had a chance.

Conservative estimates report that there are more than 75,000 different man made synthetic chemicals in our environment. We produce roughly 2000 new synthetic chemicals each year and these end up in our foods, cosmetics, and other house hold products. The Federal Toxic Substance Act of 1976 allows the EPA to regulate 10 different toxins. Ten!? Just ten of these toxic, unhealthy potential poisons are regulated by my government?  Glad to know they’re on top of things.

Are you ready to just throw your hands up in disgust and surrender to the effects? You might be tempted to, but I’d like to change that.

The Detox Manifesto
Originally it started as an innocent article, but friends, I am in the midst of writing what is quickly becoming a detox manifesto.

I want you to understand the key components; the threats that face you and your family, a core understanding of what “detox” really means for the organs of your body, and what you and your family can do to keep your bodies in prime fighting and functioning condition.

There is plenty you can do. Are you in?

Join the conversation.

My full report will be available to all Healthy Alter Ego readers, but before it’s complete, I thought I’d give you the chance to sound off.

What issues concern you most? Do you know who is more at risk and why? Do you take steps to help detox your body now? Do you know all the impressive detox organs of your own body and how to keep them in tip-top shape? Do you know some of the simple steps you can take to avoid toxins in your environment? And how about easy ways to help your body rid itself of these foreign and potentially damaging chemicals?

This series is not intended to scare you but rather enlighten and empower you.  You can take significant steps to reduce your toxic burden and clear the chemicals from your body as fast as they are coming in but you need to take some definitive action.

I want you to THRIVE, not just survive.

This special report will be my gift to you. You’ll find it on Healthy Alter Ego in the coming days, free of charge.

If you have any major interests, questions or confusion on this topic, please leave a comment below and I’ll do my best to make sure your interests are contained in the full report.

Knowledge is power. Game on!

Really looking forward to the report. Besides good everyday practices, should you do some kind of organized and more disciplined detox periodically? And how often. 1-2x a year?

  2. Mike says:

Is there any test you should do to just see how toxic you are – and which toxins are mroe prevelant in your area, or as a result of a certain lifestyle?

  3. Sue says:

What are your thoughts on taking 2 teaspoons of Salfower Oil daily for a month or two to help get rid of belly fat? A neighbor of ours said he did it and he was pleased with the results.
I’ll just toss in the fact, in case it makes a difference, that both my husband and I already take the recommended amount of fish oil daily.
I’ll look forward to your reply. Thanks!

  4. Laura says:

Game on, Dr. Huber! Bravo!! How many toxins are in/on regular produce as opposed to organic? How about in my water supply? In the air I breathe in my area(WA)? So many toxins, so little time! Thank you for keeping us informed…you rock!

  5. sara says:

I’ve done a liver cleanse before, someone said this is really important to do 2x a year, what do you think? I was just contemplating doing it again…

  6. JoAnn Bill says:

I have another concern about toxins. I’m seeing my oncologist twice a year and everytime before my visit he orders a CAT scan with contrast. Its been almost 2 years since my last lung surgery and on the last CAT scan another spot was found on my lung. Last week I had a PET test and yesterday, I had a biopsy done with
another CAT scan. Should I be detoxining? If yes, how and with what!
Dr. Huber, I’m connected with the Wellness open house we had in October in Harrison,Ohio and at that time I had an IBC breast cancer survivor speak about her discovery and treatment. She has some sort of footbath that she used to detox during her treatments. Is this something I could use to get these toxin out of my body?

  7. Pam Jones says:

I am a holistic health coach and am getting ready to do a Spring Cleanse – did a Fall Cleanse in the Fall. I would like to believe you can detox by just eating good, clean whole foods and juicing. What are your thoughts on this?
