12 weeks of wellness
One day all the Ego’s of Healthy Alter Ego sat around Ego Village pondering what we wanted for our site in 2010. We wanted to contribute posts that could impact our readers in core areas of health and wellness in a broader range of topics than in the past. Someone also wanted a sky blue Jaguar XF, but we digress…
We decided to focus our topics in 12 categories over the next 12 weeks with the goal of making spring and summer of 2010 the healthiest and hopeful in years.
1. Body Basics
2. Body Detox
3. Weight Loss & Healthy Diet Tips
4. Financial Health & Wellness
5. Sexual Health & Wellness
6. Exercise & Fitness
7. Natural Living & Home Remedies
8. Mental Health & Wellness
9. Vitamins and Nutrient Wellness
10. Spiritual Health & Wellness
11. Relationship Health & Wellness Fitness
12. Food & Recipes
Don’t want to wait until week 12 for recipes? No worries. The 12 topics serve only as a guide, not necessarily a hard and fast schedule. While all categories will be covered at least once, some topics won’t be limited to just one week and many will be covered over multiple weeks as we do our best to top one another’s efforts.
WE WANT INSIDE YOUR HEAD
Imagine feeling really good, better than you have in a long time – perhaps ever. Stronger, more vibrant, abundant energy, weight loss, laser mental focus, beautiful skin, supreme confidence, a positive outlook on the future, and a relaxed sense of well-being.
Make 2010 your year. Make serious, positive and methodical steps to make it happen. Do it at a comfortable pace, you can make small steps, but make the decision and have a plan to do it.
With all the wild enthusiasm we can muster we ask you to take our pledge we call Priority One and pursue the mission with reckless abandon. Ok, maybe not so much reckless abandon, perhaps more intentional enthusiasm, but you get our drift.
We hope you use Healthy Alter Ego as a tool, for next 12 weeks and all those that follow.
We want to be the healthy voice inside your head that points out better avenues and maybe and occasional short cut to a better mind and body.
CHALLENGES WE ALL FACE
We all know better by now, don’t we? A healthy body and a positive mind can’t be attributed to a miracle fruit, a celebrity endorsed fitness tool, a fat-burning suit, a mega-supplement or trendy diet routine.
Sure, many of us have felt some short-term benefit, but does it last? Can it be sustained? Typically, no. Why is that?
It’s not to say all the items listed above couldn’t be a piece of the puzzle. In some cases a grand piece of the puzzle, but too often we are focused on the new, trendy, shiny objects of wellness.
We neglect foundation, we neglect basic principles, we neglect balance and comprehensive solutions. We tinker with bells and whistles all the while ignoring the elements that can change our lives for the better, permanently.
Who wouldn’t want short cuts or believe in the best new technology has to offer? We’re overwhelmed. We’re suffer from information overload, over committed schedules and the constraints of time…which incidentally, seems to be speeding up.
No more.
Join us. Let’s look at the whole picture.
Let’s understand some solid basics to launch our efforts and help us maximize emerging science and modern technologies.
Let’s look at the whole picture because after all, one can’t achieve true wellness without seeking it in all areas of a full life. A healthy body, mind, family and lifestyle.
Let’s take it little by little. We live in the real world with over-committed schedules, so let’s take this in small pieces. Over the next 12 weeks, join us as we highlight several aspects of a healthy, vibrant and balanced life.
Make 2010 your year!
TAKE THE PLEDGE
Seriously consider taking our pledge we call Priority One. Write your name to it, print it out, post it on your bathroom mirror so you see it first thing in the morning and post it on your computer and in your car so it’s a constant reminder of the direction of the road ahead. Incorporate it in all areas of your life. We hope to serve as the GPS inside your head in many areas of health and wellness as all good Healthy Alter Egos should. Onward friends! This is our year!
PRIORITY ONE
I, ____________ seeking a sound mind and body, choose to actively make informed choices and disciplined efforts to seize this year as my finest. I leave behind failed attempts, weak excuses and misinformed choices. I am empowered. I am in charge. I will prevail because my health, my wellness and my vitality as well as those of the one’s I love has more value than anything on the planet. A more healthy body, mind, family and lifestyle are within my grasp.
